Phoenix, AZ, November 19, 2018: Arlette Pender, Master Pioneer and owner of HAIRLOKS by ARLETTE, will be hosting the seventh annual My Hair is Beautiful workshop on December 9 at 1 p.m. at Burton Barr Central Library.

My Hair is Beautiful is a self-esteem building workshop for girls between the ages of 5 and 18. The goal of the program is to inspire girls to love what they see when they look in a mirror and to give them the tools they need to follow their dreams. Guest speakers with stories of adversity serve as mentors for the program.

"As a businesswoman, it\'s my job to give back to the community and invest in its youth. Due to this, My Hair is Beautiful is provided as a free class," said Pender.

When the girls arrive they are provided with a mirror and the My Hair is Beautiful creed, which is recited once the program starts. They are encouraged to participate by answering questions, sharing stories, and providing input during discussions. At the end of the workshop, each girl receives a swag bag filled with goodies and items for practical use.

This program isn't just a benefit for the girls that complete the workshop. It shows parents that their community supports their daughters and encourages them to be great. It gives first-time mentors an opportunity to make a solid contribution to the lives of others outside of their profession. For more information, visit the HAIRLOKS by ARLETTE Facebook page.
